Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How much will this cost?

A. There is no charge for the Lock Your Meds™ campaign materials.  NFP has solicited sponsors to pay for the market research, planning, creative development and production of materials.  We will also localize the materials and send them to you electronically. You will decide what you want to print or duplicate locally and you are responsible for paying for that either through a sponsor or from your operating budget. You may also download materials directly from our website and make your own copies.

Q. How do I get the materials?

A. You download them directly from this website or, if we localize custom product for you, we will send it to you via yousendit.com, a web-based service that sends large files to you electronically. You will receive an email when it’s ready with instructions on how to download your materials from the web. In many cases, affiliates may decide to have us send their materials directly to a printer, a TV station, a radio station or a newspaper.

Q. How do I get media support?

A. NFP will conduct a webinar on this and other topics in the coming weeks and months.  We are also available for personal consultation over the phone. Basically, you ask local media contacts to support the campaign in exchange for their rights to our high-quality campaign materials.  Help them find local stories and provide “big picture” statistics and trends to convince them to write stories. We want them to play our ads, provide news coverage and post our materials and links on their websites.  Just ask!

Q. How do I distribute the materials?

A. Posters can go anywhere...schools, businesses, libraries, community centers, government buildings, sporting events.  Distribute the MEDucation Kit at presentations, give it to reporters as a “press kit,” or hand them out at community forums and health fairs. The kit can be distributed as a complete package or taken apart one lesson at a time, depending on the topic and the audience. There are six “lessons” in the kit.  Other materials should be distributed to the media. If possible, find “sponsors” to purchase space on billboards or time on TV/radio so get additional exposure.

Q. How do I get local sponsors to support this campaign?

A. NFP has a presentation specifically designed to solicit partners and sponsors in the campaign.  You can download the presentation and customize it to meet the needs of your prospect.  The slide show can be shown as a presentation from a computer or you can print the “flip kit,” which can be used as a tabletop presentation for a small group meeting. Be sure to know your prospect’s interest areas and exactly what you are asking for before conducting the presentation.
